What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

Neuropsychological evaluations are individualized to address specific presenting problems. These evaluations may include assessment of some or all of the following areas:

    • Cognitive Abilities/Intelligence
    • Attention/Concentration
    • Executive Functioning (Planning Organization, Problem Solving)
    • Language Skills
    • Memory
    • Visual-Spatial, Visual-Motor, & Fine Motor Skills
    • Academic Achievement (Reading, Mathematics, & Written Expression)
    • Social, Emotional, Behavioral Functioning
    • Adaptive & Independent Living Skills

Neuropsychological evaluations may explore the following areas:

    • Neurological conditions that may affect cognitive functioning and behavior (e.g., epilepsy, brain tumor, genetic disorders, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury, dementia)
    • Attention & Executive Functioning Deficits
    • Visual Processing
    • Learning and Memory
    • Language Disorders
    • Intellectual Disabilities
    • Learning Disabilities and Learning Differences
